One of the most beautiful landscapes in southern Germany, the Swabian Alb, is my home and the centre of my fly fishing.
The karst rivers that emerge from the underground limestone there are little gems and are often very challenging to fish.
Not every brown trout that leaves small rings on the surface can be caught straight away.
Apart from the presentation, the perfect fly is the key to success on the clear rivers on the ‘Alb’.
Due to the wide variety of insect species, I quickly learnt that not just any fly pattern on the water will entice the fish to bite.
Over the years, I developed flies on my tying rod that had that ‘certain something’ to outwit even selective, cautious fish.
Through many fishing acquaintances and contacts in Europe, my patterns were widely distributed.
The result was a series of flies that are now successfully fished and established on many international rivers.

Flies were created that have 30 years of experience behind them.
